(ALEXANDRIA, KY) -- A man suffered a broken leg on Tuesday after got stuck in a water tower.
It happened in the 10300 block of Woeste Road in Alexandria.
Crews say the man was working on sandblasting the tower. He was about halfway up the water bell when he fell several feet to the bottom.
Crews had to pull the through a small hole in the bell, and then down several ladders and platforms until they lowered him about 100 feet to the ground.
Captain Eric Seibel with the Erlanger/Point Pleasant Fire Department said the rescue was difficult, but went as smoothly as possible because all of the crews involved were well-trained.
Seibel said the victim, whose name has not been released, was alert and responsive the entire time. He was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
