(CINCINNATI) -- Dante Allen, the man who killed Ernest Crear during the "Peace Bowl" youth football game last year, was sentenced on Tuesday.
Allen, 19, will spend 18 years behind bars after he pled guilty to one count of voluntary manslaughter.
The 18 years was the expected sentence after Allen made a plea deal earlier this month.
Allen shot Crear a block away from the Peace Bowl youth football game on Aug. 12 in Avondale. The Peace Bowl is meant to promote peace and safety in the neighborhood.
