(CARUTHERSVILLE, MO) -- A man traveling on a bicycle with more than 20 cats faces animal abuse charges.
The Caruthersville Humane Society rescued 21 cats from a man with traveling on a bicycle at a Wal-Mart in Caruthersville.
According to the Caruthersville Human Society, Charles Fine was traveling from place to place with the cats. They were discovered in "extremely poor condition", suffering from malnutrition, infections, and dehydration. One cat had a broken back, another had a prolapsed rectum, and others were blind from Chlamydia.
Find faces 21 counts of animal abuse on city ordinances and one count of peace distrubance by intimidation against the Humane Society Investigator.
The cats are being held at the Caruthersville Animal Shelter.
A city court hearing is scheduled for Thursday April 24, 2008, at 3:00 p.m. at Caruthersville City Hall.
