Alexandria girl gets nod to star in Aquarium's frog commercial

(NEWPORT, KY) -- Ciara Bravo of Alexandria, Ky. has been selected to kiss a frog in the Newport Aquarium's commercial for its new frog exhibit, The Frog Bog, that debuts Memorial Day weekend.

Ciara, 10, a fifth-grade student at Summit Country Day, will appear in a professional commercial that airs all summer long and receive $1,000 for her starring role.

"Frogs are neat and I can't wait to play the Princess who gets to kiss one. I was a Junior Princess runner up in the Alexandria Fair a couple years ago, but this is even cooler," Ciara said.

Last week, the Aquarium began their quest to find an outgoing girl, age 6 - 10, with good speaking skills and a fun personality who was willing to be filmed kissing a frog. It turns out that there were a lot of girls who fit the bill and were more than happy to pucker up with an amphibian during the auditions.

"All the kids did a great job. It was tough to narrow it down. Most of the kids had never tried out for any acting roles before and we were amazed at how many had natural talent. We're going to invite some back to be extras in the commercials so they can experience being on a film set," said award-winning commercial director/filmmaker Greg Newberry.
