(WALTON, KY) -- A man was flown to the hospital on Tuesday morning after being hit by a tractor trailer on Interstate 71.
The collision occurred just before 4 a.m. on southbound I-71 in Walton.
A Walton man had stopped his Jeep Cherokee on the side of the road and apparently stepped into traffic when he was struck by the tractor trailer driven by James Bluer, 59, of Michigan.
Police believe the accident was an attempted suicide. The victim was flown to University Hospital via AirCare with non-life threatening injuries.
A safety inspection on the semi revealed no violations.
