UC students protest closure of residence halls

(CLIFTON, OH) -- Graduate students at the University of Cincinnati are holding a campus-wide meeting Tuesday to prostest the closure of two residence halls.

The university has said it's going to close the Scioto and Morgens residence halls, which are the only specifically graduate student and family buildings on campus.

Residents of the halls say they received a letter on March 3 saying they must vacate the buildings by August 31 because of fire safety renovations.

Currently, 454 students live in the housing.

The meeting is being held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McMicken courtyard in front of Braunstein Hall.
