(LEBANON, OH) -- The Southwest Ohio Regional Drug Task Force (SWORD), the Warren County Drug Task Force, the Cincinnati Office of the FBI, and the Dayton office of the DEA announce a major drug bust.
Officers made an undercover purchase of 3,000, 80mg. OxyContin® tablets in Dearborn, Mich., from the target of a three month investigation into the distribution of OxyContin® into southwest Ohio.
The pills were purchased for $105,000, and have an ultimate street value of $240,000.
Officials say this purchase represents the largest undercover purchase of OxyContin® in the United States. One previous purchase of 600 OxyContin® tablets had been made during the course of the investigation, in Warren County, Ohio.
Two men were arrested and charged federally with Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance:
