Two air-lifted to hospital following crash in Verona

(VERONA, KY) -- A two-vehicle crash involving a UPS truck in Verona has sent two women to the hospital.

Just before 1 p.m. Thursday, Michael Harrison, 53, of Erlanger was driving a UPS box truck west on Ky. 14 and was making a turn onto Porter Road when he collided with an eastbound Toyota Corolla driven by Brandi Elliott, 23, of Dry Ridge.

Elliott and her passenger, Shelly Elliott, 25, of Crittenden, were flown to University Hospital. Their conditions are unknown. Police say there were wearing their seat belts.

Harrison, who was also wearing a seat belt, was uninjured.

Police continue to investigate the crash. The road was closed for several hours.
