(CINCINNATI) -- The trial of Dexter Ford was supposed to begin on Tuesday. Instead, the man accused of raping a UC student pled guilty to the crime.
As part of a plea deal, Ford, 52, pled guilty to one count of rape and one count of felonious assault. Another count of rape, one count of attempted rape and one count of kidnapping were dropped.
For his guilty plea, Ford was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Ford was accused of raping the 23-year-old woman last November along Interstate 71. He argued that it was consensual because the woman was sleepwalking. Ford later revealed that he is HIV positive.
