Semi driver cited for I-74/I-275 bridge accident

(WHITEWATER TOWNSHIP, OH) -- The driver of a semi truck that crashed into support barriers of an interstate overpass has been cited.

Joe Duke, 57, of Mount Enterprise, Texas, was cited for Operating an Unsafe Vehicle, a minor misdemeanor.

Duke was operating the truck, which was carrying a locomotive engine, on the ramp from westbound Interstate 74 to southbound Interstate 275.  As the tractor approached the I-74 overpass it became separated from the trailer. The trailer and load traveled off the road and struck a pier supporting the eastbound I-74 overpass.

Crews have recently removed the locomotive from the barriers.
