Miami U. football player arrested for assault

(OXFORD, OH) -- Miami University police have arrested Zachary S. Marshall, of Mason, in connection with two alleged burglary incidents May 21 in Havighurst Hall.

Marshall is a junior at the university majoring in integrated social studies education. He also is a member of Miami's football team.

Marshall is charged with aggravated burglary and assault in an alleged incident involving a female student who reported that at about 6 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2008, a white male entered her unlocked residence hall room in Havighurst Hall.

Marshall also is charged with burglary concerning a second alleged incident involving a male student at Havighurst who told police that at about 5:45 a.m. May 21 a white male entered his unlocked room twice.

Pending further investigation, Marshall has been suspended from Miami University's football team.
