Covington Schools name new superintendent

(COVINGTON, KY) -- After months of searching and subsequent interviews, the Covington Board of Education has named Lynda Jackson, a top administrator with the Covington public schools, as the district's new superintendent, replacing Jack Moreland, who is retiring at the end of this month.

Lynda Yancey Jackson has been, since 2007, executive director of learning support for Covington Independent Public Schools. Over the previous seven years she served as Covington's executive director of federal and state programs and professional development.

Ms. Jackson earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Western Kentucky University and a Master of Arts from Georgetown College (Kentucky).
