Cholesterol Lowering Tips

Increase HDL "good" cholesterol by:

  • daily aerobic exercising
  • stopping smoking
  • eating less foods that contain saturated fats (solid in room temp)
  • limiting processed snacks, fast food stops, red meats, whole and 2% milk and cheeses
  • using more monounsaturated fats (liquid in room temp) to cook with like vegetable and canola oil
  • eating a higher fiber diet consisting of grains, fresh fruits, and vegetables
