(NORTH FAIRMOUNT, OH) -- A man and a woman received serious injuries following an early morning crash in North Fairmount.
It happened Thursday morning around 1:15 a.m. in the 1500 block of Hopple Street.
Police say Derrick Ruffin, 31, was operating his Suzuki motorcycle westbound on the Hopple Street Viaduct when he rear ended a Jeep.
Ruffin was transported to University Hospital where he is in critical condition. A passenger on his bike, Tiechia Miles, 29, was also transported to the hospital and is in serious condition.
Police say neither Ruffin nor Miles were wearing a helmet.
The driver of the SUV, Eric Philpot, 40, was not injured. Police say he was wearing a seatbelt.
The crash remains under investigation. Police are asking any witnesses to call 513-352-2514.
