Fatal accident at I-74 and Colerain Ave.

UPDATE: The ramp to Colerain Ave. has been reopened

UPDATE: The crash involved a U-Haul van. Police say the driver got off the Colerain Ave. exit from west bound I-74 and failed to stop, flipping the truck at least 17 times before it finally came to rest about 100 feet away from the crash site.

Police say speed is to blame for the crash.

The victim's name has not yet been released.

PREVIOUSLY: The ramp to Colerain Ave. from west bound Interstate 74 has been shut down due to a single vehicle accident.

The accident happened about 9:30 a.m. at the corner of Colerain and Beekman when a truck hit a wall. Scanner traffic indicates that at least one person was ejected from the vehicle and has died at the scene.

Beekman Street at Elmore Ave. is shut down while police clean up and investigate the accident.

FOX19 has a crew on the scene and will update this story has more information becomes available.
