Man arrested following standoff in Norwood

NORWOOD, OH (FOX19) -- A man is behind bars following a standoff in Norwood.

It started around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday morning at an apartment on Norwood Ave, when Dennis Shrader, 44, called police and threatened suicide.

Police say when they arrived, Shrader met them with a knife and urged officers to shoot him. Instead, they called the S.W.A.T team.

Shrader gave up around 4 a.m. He's now facing charges of inducing panic and disorderly conduct.
