Child falls 20 feet in Campbell Co.

ALEXANDRIA, KY (FOX19) -- An Alexandria toddler is recovering after falling nearly 20 feet out of a window.

Police say around 8:30 a.m., an Alexandria maintenance supervisor spotted a male toddler running on Sunset Dr. wearing only a diaper and bleeding from the mouth. The supervisor notified police and emergency personnel.

Police say the toddler had fallen out of window that was open for ventilation. The child fell approximately 20 feet into some shrubbery. There was no screen in the window.

The uncle of the boy, 21-year-old Nicholas Goins, who was babysitting, said was asleep and did not realize what happened.

The boy, who is 18 months old, was taken to Children's Hospital. Police say he was breaking and alert when taken.

No charges have been filed, but the case will be given to the Campbell County Attorney.
