MOUNT WASHINGTON, OH (FOX19) -- A Hamilton County Sheriff's Deputy was involved in an injury crash early Friday morning in Mount Washington.

It happened just before 1 a.m. Friday morning on state Route 125 (Beechmont Ave.) at the intersection of Beacon St.

Police say a Anderson Township contract vehicle operated by Shawn Cox, 34, was en route to the Hamilton County Justice Center with two prisoners, who were seated in the back seat. As Cox approached the intersection, he failed to observe a taxi cab operated by Abou M. El Hacen, 38, of Cincinnati, which was stopped at the intersection in front of him. The front portion of Deputy Cox's car was struck by the rear portion of El Hacen's cab.

The two prisoners from Cox's vehicle were transported to Anderson Mercy Hospital for evaluation. Both were treated and released back into custody and transported to the Hamilton County Justice Center.

El Hacen was also taken to Anderson Mercy for complaint of a back injury. He was also treated and released.

Deputy Cox was not injured.
