Child porn found in Cleves home

CLEVES, OH (FOX19) -- Two workers who were going to clean a home in Cleves made a shocking discovery.

The workers entered a foreclosed home on Westgate Ave. and discovered several pieces of child pornography.

Cleves police chief Bill Renner says some of the material contained adults, but most of it was of children, dating back decades. It was contained on tapes, pictures, floppy discs and computer hard drives.

"There were hundreds of images on all these items," said Renner.

Renner said an investigation is ongoing, and will probably take a long time. He said one of the rooms in the house appeared to be a studio, and police believe some of the material could have originated there.

Neighbors were shocked to learn the news.

"You don't know you're neighbors. You don't at all. At all," said Dawn Clark, who lives up the road with her teenage stepdaughter. "I guess if the people hadn't been behind on their mortgage payment had we ever known."

"This scares me," said another neighbor, Ruthann Rybolt. "I've got grandkids, I'm afraid to let them out in our yard now without us being there."

Police are looking for the last homeowner, Linda Clowers. Police tell FOX19 they think the pornography may have belonged to a boyfriend or Clowers' deceased husband

Anyone with information is urged to call Crimestoppers at 352-3040 or the Cleves Police Department at (513) 941-1212.
