UPDATE: Police identify drowning victim found in Ohio River

UPDATE: Bellevue Police has released the identity of a man whose body was found in the Ohio River Thursday evening.

The victim has been identified ad 25-year-old Brandon Novogroski of Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky.

Family members reported Novogroski missing to the Covington Police Department on Sunday. He was last seen by his family during the week of July 28th.

The coroner has ruled his death as an accidental drowning. An investigation is ongoing to determine what lead to Brandon Novogroski's death. Foul play is not suspected.

UPDATE: The coroner's office has determined the cause of death was an accidental drowning and no foul play is suspected.

The coroner says they have identified the victim, but are not releasing his name until the family is notified.


Police are trying to figure out how a man's body ended up in the Ohio River.

Campbell County coroner Mark Schweitzer says the body was found around 8:30 p.m. Thursday night, not far from Joe's Crab Shack.

Investigators say the body didn't have any obvious signs of trauma, but an autopsy is being performed.
