AirCare was called to crash scene in Burlington, Ky.
Both AirCare helicopters were dispatched to the scene near Ky. 18 near Carlton Drive just before noon on Thursday.
Police say Joan Walters, 64, was driving a Chevy Lumina and turning left from the Dollar General when she was was t-boned by Brian Samad, 19, who was driving a Hyundai Tiburon. The impact caused the Lumina to flip on its top.
Walters and her passenger, Glenda Dice, 38, were flown via AirCare to University Hospital with serious injuries. Police say Walters was wearing a seatbelt and had to be extricated while Dice was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. Samad was wearing a seatbelt and was taken by ambulance to St. Luke West.
