NEW RICHMOND, OH (FOX19) -- The New Richmond Police Department is looking for information to help solve two street roberry/abductions that occurred over the past three months.
Police say the first attack occurred in May. A man was leaving a local bar when three men accosted him, beat him and forced him into a truck. They drove him several miles away and dropped him off after taking his money.
The second attack occurred on August 16. A man was leaving a different bar when he was approached by two white males and a black male. They beat him and forced him into a truck. The also drove him several miles away and dropped him off after taking his money.
New Richmond police are exploring several leads and a couple of suspects have been developed. Mug shots and photo line-ups are being compiled to show the victims. Some physical evidence was also recovered which will be sent to the state crime lab.
Police say in both cases the victims were highly intoxicated.
New Richmond police are urging bar patrons to resist carrying large sums of cash. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 352-3040. They can also send text messages to 352-3050.
