Suburban Chef Barbie Hahn prepares Firecracker Shrimp in honor of the WEBN Fireworks!

Firecracker Shrimp in honor of the WEBN Fireworks!

These "Firecracker Shrimp" will spice things up at your fireworks party!

  • 2 Pounds large or jumbo Shrimp peeled
  • metal or bamboo skewers, 6 for main course 15 for appetizer portion.
  • Grill pan

Marinade:

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 T cilantro
  • 1 jalapeno seeded and minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 lime juiced

Marinade shrimp for about 20 minutes.  Begin heating grill pan. Heat until you cannot hold hand over pan for more than 3-5 seconds.  Pat off some of the marinade so the shrimp get good grill marks and don't just "stew" in the marinade.

Cook for about 3 minutes on each side.

Serve and enjoy.
