UPDATE: Police have released the identities of the people involved in a motorcycle crash early Monday morning on Interstate 75.
Police say Jason Webster, 25, was operating his Suzuki motorcycle when he lost control. He was transported to University Hospital and is listed in serious condition. His passenger, Vanessa Acevedo, 24, was also transported to the hospital and is in critical condition.
Police say neither Webster nor Acevedo were wearing a helmet and excessive speed is considered a factor in the crash.

UPDATE: The interstate is now reopen.
An accident involving a motorcycle has shut down northbound Interstate I-75.
All lanes are blocked at mile marker 4. All northbound I-75 traffic must exit at 74.
The accident occurred just before 5 a.m. There is no word on the extent of any injuries.
