BATAVIA, OH (FOX19) -- An unborn baby has died as a result of a crash in Clermont County.
It happened Saturday afternoon, Sept. 6, on SR 276 near the intersection of Herold Road.
Police say Brandy McPheeters, 25, of Williamsburg was operating a Jeep Cherokee westbound on SR 276 when she rear ended a Ford Escort driven by William Lowe, 19, of Batavia. The impact caused McPheeters to slide left of center, and her vehicle was struck by a Dodge Ram driven by Donald Tombaugh, 63, of Georgetown.
McPheeters, who was 8-months pregnant, was air lifted to University Hospital. Injuries from the crash resulted in the death of her unborn baby. McPheeters is listed in critical condition.
Tombaugh and Lowe were not transported to the hospital. Two passengers in Lowe's vehicle were taken to Clermont Mercy Hospital with minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation. Police say drugs and alcohol are not factors in the crash, and everyone involved appeared to be wearing a seat belt.
