Local events to commemorate Sept. 11

Ten people with Tri-State ties died in the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11. Here is a list of local ceremonies commemorating that day:

"Never Forget" Ceremony at the Old Butler County Courthouse: Noon

Fallen Firefighters Memorial on Monument Ave. in Hamilton: 7 p.m.

Memorial Mass at Xavier University: 5 p.m.

Colerain-Princeton football game -- Bands from both schools are coming together in an "American Celebration" at 7 p.m.

9/11 Exhibit at Cincinnati Museum Center - Disaster equipment will be on display from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Newport Peace Bell - Ceremony to remember the victims of 9/11, concluded by the ringing of the peace bell at 8:46 a.m.

Clermont County is asking citizens to fly the flag all day, observe a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m.

Fairfield firefighters and the mayor and a councilmember present a proclamation to Gail Grothaus, whose daughter Kim used to place 700 flags on the street for 9-11.  Her daughter died in November -  10 a.m.

Blackhawk helicopter scheduled to land at Campbell County Middle School, Brossart High School and Riley Elementary, various times

9/11 Mass For Peace - Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption, 7 p.m.

Firefighters dinner - All Anderson Township Fire Stations, 7:30 p.m.
