CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -- There is a warning out about people trying to trade on your generosity.
Scam artists pretending to be firefighters are calling asking for donations.
But don't be fooled. Most departments get all their money from their cities along with state and federal grants.
It's highly unlikely firefighters will ask you for money. If they do, they may not be firefighters.
"We get these scams every so often, they sprout up where they're soliciting for firefighters," said Greg Buckler, president of the Northern Kentucky Firefighters Association.
Buckler says that when fire departments to have fundraisers, they usually don't hire phone solicitors.
