Sheriff's Deputy gets cocaine in his eyes during traffic stop

COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -- A Sheriff's deputy recieved minor injuries during a routine traffic stop Saturdday in Colerain Township.

Police say the officer made a traffic stop on Colerain Ave. just before 6 p.m. and suspect began to make furtive moments under the seat. After the suspect was placed in custody, the officer reached under the seat and found a plastic bag of cocaine. When he removed the bag, some of the white powder dispersed into the air, getting in the officer's eyes.

The officer was transported to University Hospital, where he was treated and released with minor eye irritation.

The suspect has been identifie as Nico Jones, of Cincinnati. He is charged with possession of cocaine and is being held in the Hamilton County Justice Center.
