Man in hospital after running from police and crashing into a barn

GOSHEN, OH (FOX19) - A Morrow man is in the hospital after he crashed into a barn when running from the police late Saturday night.

Goshen Township Police spotted 31-year-old Michael Francis driving erratically on State Route 28 in Goshen. As officers attempted to pull him over, Francis began a police chase into Blanchester and Warren County.

Eventually officers were able to slow the chase when a police cruiser pulled in front of Francis and Blanchester Police joined in. The driver accelerated, then crashed and severely damaged a Goshen Police cruiser.

A short time later, Michael Francis had crashed into a barn on State Route 123 and State Route 132. Two of the horses in the barn were killed from the crash. The barn was severely damaged.

Francis was taken to University Hospital by Air Care. He is reported to be listed in critical condition.

He now faces Felonious Assault and Fleeing and Eluding charges.
