CINCINNATI (FOX19) - A warning has been issues about a scam stemming from the power outages.

Social workers say people are going into neighborhoods posing as Jobs and Family services agents, offering help.

But investigators say they're taking down people's personal information to steal their identities.

"We're asking the community to come to us to avoid that type of situation where somebody is trying to take advantage of someone who can't afford to be taken advantage of," said Ron Kirkendall, assistant director of Hamilton County Jobs and Family Services.

Job and Family Services says if anyone asks you for sensitive information at your home, you should refuse and call the police.
