Casino supporters lash out at Argosy

WILMINGTON, OH (FOX19) - Folks who want to be allowed to build Ohio's first casino in Clinton County are lashing out against Indiana's Argosy Casino.

The group My Ohio Now claims that Penn National, Argosy's owner, is trying to keep Issue Six from passing on the November ballot.

"Penn National is in to defeat Issue Six completely out of their own interest and not out of any desire to help Ohio in any way," said Rick Lertzman with My Ohio Now.

My Ohio Now says the casino would create 5,000 new jobs in the Wilmington area, and pump millions of dollars into Ohio's economy that now goes to neighboring states.

Penn National could not be reached for comment.
