CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Hamilton County has over $57 million in unclaimed funds owed to people in Hamilton County.
They come from dormant bank accounts, unreturned deposits on rent and utilities or uncashed travelers' checks.
Hamilton County treasurer Robert Goering is assisting residents in collecting these funds. There are seven sets of unclaimed fund books that list the names and known addresses of Hamilton Countians who are owed money that will make their rounds throughout the public library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County.
One set will be permanately housed in the information and reference department on the second floor of the main library's south building, as well as the Anderson, Green Township and Symmes Township branch libraries. The three remaining sets will circulate at branch libraries on a rotating basis for one week at a time.
Unclaimed fund forms are available at each branch location and in the Main Library's Information and Reference Department. A searchable list of of unclaimed funds and instructions about how to apply for them are available at www.hamiltoncountyohio.gov/treasurer. Or for more information, call 1-877-644-6823.
