UPDATE: Church music director indicted on importuning charges

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

UPDATE:

Charles Andy Garitson was indicted by a Warren County grand jury on Tuesday, Nov. 18.

PREVIOUSLY:

A music director at a local church faces charges of importuning after an under cover investigation by Hamilton Township police.

Charles Andy Garitson was arrested just before noon on Monday, Sept. 29 after he allegedly solicited sexual contact with who he believed was a 15 year old boy. Instead, it was undercover officers posing online as juveniles.

Garitson has been charged with importuning and attempted unlawful sexual contact with a minor.

He is employed as music director for the Park Avenue United Methodist Church in  Hamilton and has also served as orchestra director for several theatre companies in the area where juvenile actors perform.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
