Gator in Ohio?

Posted by Trina Kinstler - email

AMELIA, OH (FOX19) - Gators on golf courses in Florida are fairly common, but Amelia is a different story.

A 2-foot alligator was caught Wedneday night crossing the 15th fairway at Taylor Glen Golf Course.

The course's owner thinks someone used to have the gator as a pet, and let it go once it got too big.

"I talked to a lot of my friends and said you'd never believe what I caught," said Jim Kirkpatrick, who caght the gator. "They said a coyote, a fox, .no an alligator! They said, 'Your're crazy. There are not alligators around here.' It was just kind of odd."

It's not clear where the gator will make its permanent home.
