JONESBORO, AR (WMC-TV)- Firefighters battled a fire at a retirement home in Jonesboro late Tuesday night that left one person dead.
Firefighters said everyone else made it out safely after a fire at the Rosehaven Retirement Home on Stone Street in Jonesboro.
Eight residents at the home were sent a local hospital because they were dependent on oxygen equipment.
The fire broke out just before 9:00pm in the laundry area, according to officers on the scene. It quickly spread to the building's the roof before it could be contained.
Investigators have not determined a cause.
The governors of Florida, Alabama and Mississippi all declared states of emergency ahead of the storm.Full Story >
