LEBANON, OH (FOX19) - A local nurse has pled guilty to charges stemming that she stole drugs from patients.

Roxie Luff, 22, was a nurse at The Otterbein Home in Lebanon. She pled guilty to three counts of theft of drugs, one count of aggravated possession of drugs and one count of illegal processing of a drug document.

Prosecutors say Luff was stealing Hydrocodone and Oxycodone from the facility. Evidence shows she would manipulate her patients' charts to indicate they had been given the drugs when in fact she had taken them herself. Tests of patients revealed they had not received the drugs.

"This is a person that was entrusted with protecting the health and well being of our elderly and she violated that trust," Warren County Prosecutor Rachel Hutzel said. "Not only did she endanger her own life, but the lives of her patients."

Luff will be sentenced on Jan. 6, 2009.
