College students brave cold to raise awareness of homelessness

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Students at the College of Mount St. Joseph braved freezing temperatures on Wednesday night, all to raise awareness for homelessness.

The students built shanties from cardboard, newspaper and duct tape.

Some students couldn't handle the cold, and ended up bailing in the middle of the night, but several students spent the entire night in their shanties. They say it made them thankful for their warm beds and a hot shower.

The school is holding a candlelight vigil for the homeless on Thursday night.
