HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - A former UC and NBA basketball star has been arrested on drug charges.
Corie Blount, 39, faces felony charges of drug possession after 11 pounds of marijuana was intercepted by officials.
Investigators say a package, coming from out of state, was scheduled to be delivered by the United States Postal Service, to an address on Serenity Place, in Liberty Township.
On Thursday, the Sheriff's Office's Drug and Vice Investigations Unit, working in cooperation with federal agents and Middletown Police, was able to schedule a controlled delivery of the Marijuana to the Liberty Township residence. A short time later, Blount arrived at the residence to retrieve the package and was followed to his residence where deputies stopped him and arrested him.
Search warrants were then executed at the residence where the package was delivered and Blount's residence. At Blount's residence, deputies located a second package, like and similar to the package that Blount had just picked up. That package also contained approximately eleven pounds of marijuana. A third package was located with 7 pounds of marijuana.
Blount was placed into the Butler County Correctional Complex and later bonded out on $10,090.
