NORTH COLLEGE HILL, OH (FOX19) - The North College Hill police department is working to make sure a local bar doesn't end up in what they believe is the wrong hands.
The concern stems from an application with the state liquor board for a transfer of the bar's liquor license.
Police say the woman who wants the liquor license for 'No Name Pub' is associated with a guy who they say is bad news...
Robert Tubbs and Jamie Churchill were both on the original application of transfer. Tubbs has removed his name, but police say that doesn't change anything...
That's because Tubbs is the current owner of Reflections Jazz Lounge, the Northside bar where Cincinnati Police say the local Northside Taliband gang used to hang out. Not only that, but they had more than a hundred calls for service to that bar in less than six months.
North College Hill police say they simply don't have the man power to handle a bar like that.
"Mr. Tubbs has shown historically by fact and indeed that he is incapable of policing up his own act and is a major thorn in the City of Cincinnati," said Chief Paul Toth with North College Hill Police.
The current license permit holder did tell say she has no plans to transfer her permit, and it will be up to the state board to decide if it can be transferred.
Neither Tubbs nor Churchill returns calls from FOX19.
