Cranley resigns from Cincinnati City Council

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - After eight years of service, Cincinnati councilman John Cranley says he is leaving City Council to make sure that two major real estate developments on the West Side break ground in 2009 and to resume his law practice by joining the Real Estate Group at Keating Muething & Klekamp PLL (KMK).

City Lights Development, LLC, of which John became a partner in July 2007, is redeveloping Incline Square in East Price Hill.

Cranley is also working with Harbor Lights, LLC, run by Ray Brown, which will redevelop River Road.

In order to move forward with these projects, and to ensure that all associated parties, including the city, are beyond reproach, Cranley reached out to the Ohio Ethics Commission for consultation and believes that leaving city council before these projects break ground is best.

John's most exciting new venture will be as a new father when his wife Dena delivers their first child in April.
