Local man arrested after a scuffle with a deputy

WARREN COUNTY, OH (FOX19)-- A West Chester man is in jail after he was driving drunk and had a scuffle with a sheriff's deputy Wednesday night.

A short time after 10:30pm, a Warren County sheriffs deputy saw 44-year-old Gregory Shaw hit  a traffic sign on the corner of El Camino and Audubon Drives in Turtlecreek Township.

When the deputy arrested Shaw, he pushed the officer knocking him backwards. The suspect continued to struggle with the deputy unlit he was tased.

After the tasing, Gregory Shaw appeared to have trouble breathing and was taken to Atrium Medical Center. He was treated and released for his injuries and is currently being held at the Warren County Jail.

Shaw is charged with Resisting Arrest, DUI, and other traffic charges.

The deputy had a fingernail torn from his finger, but was treated and remains on duty.
