Man arrested after bomb scare at the Courthouse

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A man was arrested after he said there was a bomb in the Hamilton County Courthouse Wednesday morning.

At 9:30am, Cincinnati Police received a 911 call from an unknown person saying there was a bomb inside the Courthouse. Deputies in the building immediately began to search for any type of bomb device. The Sheriff's K-9 Bomb Detection Units were also called in for the search.

Investigators discovered the call was made on the first floor of the Courthouse. The caller was caught on video at a pay phone.

A short time before 10:00am, Sheriff's Deputies found a person on the second floor that matched the description of the caller on the video. The suspect was taken into custody and interviewed.

During the interview, 37-year-old Brandon Hare admitted that he made the false bomb call.

Hare is now charged with one count of Inducing Panic and is currently being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center.
