CINCINNNATI,OH (FOX19)-- The southbound lanes of Interstate 71 were shut down from nearly two hours on Friday after a semi truck caught on fire.
The owner and operator of the truck, Michael banks was traveling south on I-71 when he heard a "pop" from the right front tire.
Shortly after the sound, he noticed smoke and pulled over to the right side of the road. Soon the entire truck was engulfed in flames and the smoke could be seen for miles.
Fire crews quickly responded to the scene and put the flames out using foam and water. Traffic on I-71 was closed for nearly two hours.
The fire was contained to the tractor and there was no damage to the trailer and its contents. Damages is estimated to be 50,000 dollars.
