UPDATE: No charges in 7-year-old's death

UPDATE: Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters announced Monday that no deliquency charges will be filed against an 11-year-old suspect involved in the accidental shooting death of Earl Robinson, 7.

The matter has been referred to the Hamilton County Department of Jobs and Family Services.

Deters said no decision has been made about possible deliquency charges for anyone else who may be involved in the incident.

UPDATE: Police have identified the boy who was shot and killed in Avondale Friday afternoon.

7-year-old Earl Robinson was a 2nd grader at South Avondale Elementary school.

Police say they will continue to investigate and review their findings withthe Prosecutor's Office. So far, no charges have been filed.

AVONDALE, OH (FOX19)-- Cincinnati police are on the scene of a shooting that involves a child in Avondale Friday afternoon.

Cincinnati Police responded to the 3500 block of Purdue Street for a report of a child shot around 4:40pm. Officials say the victim was a 7-year-old boy.

Homicide investigators are on the scene and are now questioning three juveniles that were in the home during the shooting. They have not determined of the shooting was accidental, intentional, or self-inflected.

Officials say there was a rifle found on the basement floor, but have not confirmed if it was the weapon used in the incident.

No names have been released at this time.
