A proposed safety levy for Clermont County's Union Township went down by a huge margin in a special election Tuesday. The levy failed by 3 to 1 in an election that might have been influenced by the controversies involving the township administration, one of which also involved the fire union.
A levy to fund the operation of the Mt. Healthy Schools failed by a margin that was almost as large. Other schools in southwest Ohio fared better, with most issues passing.
The elections were held February 3rd because that is one of several dates set aside by the state of Ohio for elections when jurisdictions don't want to wait for the regular primary or fall election.
