MIAMI TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - A local family escaped an overnight house fire in Miami Township in Clermont County.
Crews were dispatched to the intersection of U.S. 50 and Roundbottom Road around 12:15 a.m. Thursday morning.
Four of the seven residents were home at the time, and all managed to escape.
When crews arrived on the scene, the found the two story residence fully engulfed in flames and shooting through the roof. Fire crews fought the fire from the outside. It took them almost one hour to contain the fire, but not before the second floor collapsed onto the first floor. Additional crews were called in.
Crews were on the scene all night to extinguish pockets of fire. The house is a total loss, and a cause has yet to be determined.
One of the residents, a teenage boy who called 911 from his cell phone in a second floor bathroom, was later transported to the hospital with smoke inhalation.
