LAWRENCEBURG, IN (FOX19) - Police and drug agents in Dearborn County went on one of their largest drug sweeps ever on Thursday night.

The target was illegal prescription drugs.

The Dearborn County Special Crimes Unit and other agencies executed 60 drug warrants on Thursday. Some of the cases have been under investigation for nearly a year.

The charges include dealing a controlled substance to neglect of dependents. Police also seized several prescription drugs from the homes they served the warrants.

While it might have been a giant production, Shane McHenry and his Dearborn County Special Crimes Unit took several dangerous dealers off the streets of Lawenceburg.

In total, 48 officers hit the streets Thursday, serving more warrants in one day than in all of 2008.

Dearborn County Prosecutor Aaron Negangard says so far, 28 arrests have been made and officers wont quit until all 60 doors have been knocked on.
