Emergency information from Clermont County

The National Weather Service in Wilmington, Ohio has issued a high wind warning from noon today until 5 a.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2009.  A fast-moving line of thunderstorms is expected to develop this afternoon in advance of a cold front.  This line of thunderstorms will have the potential to produce widespread damaging winds and a few tornadoes.

After the front moves through, a prolonged period of very high winds is expected this evening and overnight.  Wind gusts are expected up to 60 mph; sustained winds of 20 - 40 mph are possible.

The Clermont County Communications Center will increase the number of 9-1-1 operators in preparation for the anticipated increase of calls.  The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is on standby.
