MASON, OH (FOX19) - The three Mason High School students accused of vandalizing school busses may avoid jail time.

Investigators say those three teens unplugged the engine heaters on the district's buses on a very cold day, forcing school to close for a day.

The teens are charged with disrupting public service and criminal trespassing.

They have been suspended from school, but Warren County prosecutor says she would rather see them perform community service over jail time.

"They would like to see the boys make some sort of restitution, restitution that they can earn and pay back," said Hutzel.
