CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A Cincinnati man has been indicted, accused of severely injuring his 4-month-old baby.

On Dec. 26, 2008, police received a call to a home in the 2600 block of Glendora Ave. in reference of a baby in cardiac arrest.

Emergency crews responded and found Savon Edwards, 4 months old, non-responsive. The infant was taken to Children's Hospital and admitted to the intensive care unit.

A preliminary diagnosis revealed that the baby suffered from severe bleeding on the brain. Investigators say the injury to the baby was caused by severely being shaken.

On Feb. 10, a Hamilton County grand jury handed down an indictment for felonious assault and child endangering against Ricky Edwards, 30, the baby's biological father. Ricky Edwards was arrested on Feb. 11 and is being held in the Hamilton County Justice Center awaiting trial.
